It is with great joy and heartfelt excitement that I welcome you to the new school year at Hubbard Elementary School!

To our new families joining us from Dorsa and Meyer Elementary: welcome to the Hubbard family! We are thrilled to have you with us and look forward to learning, growing, and building community together. Your children are now part of a school filled with compassion, resilience, and a commitment to excellence.

To our returning Hubbard families: thank you for your continued trust, patience, and unwavering support. Your strength and unity have been the heartbeat of our school during a time of tremendous transition.

Over the past year, we have navigated significant changes due to school closures and redesign challenges that have tested us all. But through it, we’ve emerged more united and focused than ever before. Together, we’ve laid the foundation for a bright, new chapter at Hubbard. One filled with joy, opportunity, and community pride.

This year, we are committed to creating an inclusive, engaging, and supportive environment where every child feels seen, valued, and inspired to thrive. I look forward to building strong partnerships with you, working hand-in-hand to ensure that Hubbard continues to be a place where every student shines.

¡Bienvenidas Familias de Hubbard al Nuevo Año Escolar!

Querida comunidad de Hubbard,

Es con gran alegría y entusiasmo que les doy la bienvenida a un nuevo año escolar en la Escuela Primaria Hubbard.

A nuestras nuevas familias que se unen desde las escuelas Dorsa y Meyer: ¡bienvenidos a la familia Hubbard! Nos emociona mucho tenerlos con nosotros y esperamos con ilusión aprender, crecer y construir una comunidad fuerte a su lado. Sus hijos ahora forman parte de una escuela llena de compasión, resiliencia y compromiso con la excelencia.

A nuestras familias que regresan a Hubbard: gracias por su confianza continua, su paciencia y su apoyo incondicional. Su fortaleza y unidad han sido el corazón de nuestra escuela durante un tiempo de grandes cambios.

Durante el último año, hemos enfrentado transiciones significativas debido al cierre y rediseño de escuelas—retos que nos han puesto a prueba a todos. Pero gracias a la colaboración de esta comunidad, hemos salido más unidos y enfocados que nunca. Juntos, hemos sentado las bases para un nuevo y brillante capítulo en Hubbard. Lleno de alegría, oportunidades y orgullo comunitario.

Este año, estamos comprometidos a crear un ambiente inclusivo, estimulante y de apoyo, donde cada niño se sienta visto, valorado e inspirado a sobresalir. Espero con entusiasmo construir relaciones sólidas con ustedes, trabajando codo a codo para asegurar que Hubbard siga siendo un lugar donde cada estudiante brille.

Hagamos de este un año verdaderamente maravilloso juntos.

It is with great enthusiasm that I introduce myself as a newly appointed assistant principal of Hubbard Media Arts School! I am incredibly honored to have been chosen to work alongside Dr. Sarmiento to lead the instructional efforts at Hubbard. I am extremely fortunate to serve such a supportive community of dedicated teachers, involved parents, and diverse learners.

I come from a Mexican background originating from the state of Jalisco. I have lived in Jalisco and California throughout my life.  I have a great interest in playing music, specifically the guitar.  Playing Rock n’ Roll and other genres of music with my son, who plays the drums, is one of my greatest passions. I also enjoy baseball, art, cooking, and family gatherings.  I am a strong believer in family and spend most of my time doing these activities with them.

During my 26-year career as an educator in the Alum Rock School District. I have served students in multiple elementary grades. As a teacher, I have always believed that the quality of education is extremely important. The level of commitment to my teaching craft is a driving force to serve the students and prepare them for college.  It is this passion for teaching that has led me into a leadership role in Alum Rock.

I look forward to meeting with the newly redesigned Hubbard community. I am excited to start the school year and help build a strong community with the help of all staff, students, and families that will call Hubbard home this coming school year. I make students the main focus of my leadership position, and being someone they can count on whenever they need.  I encourage families to come see me with any questions/concerns or just to say hi! I also speak Spanish.

 Con gran entusiasmo me presento como el nuevo subdirector de la Escuela de Artes Audiovisuales Hubbard. Me siento sumamente honrado de haber sido elegido para trabajar junto con la Dra. Sarmiento y liderar las iniciativas educativas en Hubbard. Soy sumamente afortunado de servir a una comunidad tan solidaria de docentes dedicados, padres comprometidos y estudiantes diversos.

Soy de ascendencia mexicana, originario del estado de Jalisco. He vivido en Jalisco y California toda mi vida. Me apasiona la música, especialmente la guitarra. Tocar rock and roll y otros géneros musicales con mi hijo, que toca la batería, es unos de mis grandes pasiones. También disfruto del béisbol, el arte, la cocina y las reuniones familiares. Creo firmemente en la familia y paso la mayor parte del tiempo participando en estas actividades con ellos.

Durante mis 26 años de carrera como educador en el Distrito Escolar de Alum Rock, he atendido a estudiantes de varios grados de primaria. Como docente, siempre he creído que la calidad de la educación es fundamental. Mi compromiso con mi labor docente es fundamental para servir a los estudiantes y prepararlos para la universidad. Es esta pasión por la enseñanza la que me ha llevado a asumir un rol de liderazgo en Alum Rock.

Espero con ansias reunirme con la recién rediseñada comunidad de Hubbard. Me entusiasma comenzar el año escolar y ayudar a construir una comunidad sólida con la ayuda de todo el personal, los estudiantes y las familias que llamarán a Hubbard su hogar este próximo año escolar. Mi liderazgo se centra en los estudiantes y en ser alguien con quien puedan contar siempre que lo necesiten. Animo a las familias a que vengan a verme si tienen alguna pregunta o inquietud, o simplemente a saludarme. También hablo español.
